Mechanical engineering is a course that involves the principles of engineering, and physics. It is the a part of the engineering career that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery.
There are many types of jobs you can do too in this field. You could be a Lead Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Project Engineer II -Mechanical, or maybe even a project engineer.
A Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, fabrication, and installation of skid-mounted and stand-alone equipment. The projects involve pressure vessels and packaged process equipment which consists of piping, control valves, instruments and structural steel. For this job, you will need a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering. You will also need a minimum of 8 years experience of refining/petrochemical/gas industry design codes/specifications, including AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, ACI, API. You will also need experience with European and Russian design codes and standards.
For this job, you will get a salary from about $73,211 - $124,782, depending on what company you work for.
